Our online material supports in-person training at Dervan and continued study afterwards. This page is a guide to the content and the level at which to begin. The lessons themselves are hosted in the Mission Spine International online school on Teachable.
For surgeons developing their diagnostic foundation. Proposed topics include clinical presentation, examination, the GORE teaching framework, symptom–imaging correlation, target identification and treatment decision-making.
Status: this is one of two planned courses being developed from the existing basic course. Until the separation is complete, enquire about the relevant lessons in the current basic course.
For surgeons beginning TFE. The proposed index covers anatomical orientation, access and local-anaesthesia principles, positioning, fluoroscopy, instruments, disc-related targets, procedural concepts, case review and safety considerations.
Status: this is the second planned course being developed from the existing basic course. Separate course availability and enrolment details will be announced when the revised structure is ready.
An advanced course for surgeons with a foundation in transforaminal endoscopy. Familiarity with access principles, local anaesthesia, orientation and precision targeting is expected. The curriculum is being reorganised to separate core lessons from optional supporting material.
Welcome and expected foundation; course objectives and study route; orientation to the canal walls; an introductory zone-and-wall map; terminology and supporting resources.
The Gore three-zone, three-wall framework; principal anatomical landmarks; the target map and terminology; introductory imaging correlation; review and optional references.
· Mapping potential symptom generators by zone and wall.
· Bony landmarks of the three zones.
· Recognising landmarks and targets on CT.
· Cadaveric anatomy of ligamentum flavum and facet relationships.
· MRI assessment and correlation across planes.
· Integrating anatomy, CT and MRI through worked examples.
Later topics include approach comparison, the relationship between GORE TFE and SMRUTII, access planning, procedural teaching and revision. These later sections are still being organised; the current lesson availability is shown inside the online school.
You do not need to purchase every course to enquire about Dervan. Tell us your experience and learning goals so we can suggest suitable preparation. Online study supports the practical programme; it does not replace supervised training.
