Our in-person programme at Dervan brings clinical discussion, anatomical study and practical learning into one setting. The focus is on understanding what you are trying to treat, how to recognise the relevant anatomy and how to plan an appropriate route to the target.
Orthopaedic and neurosurgical trainees and practising surgeons with an interest in lumbar endoscopy are welcome to enquire. Beginners and surgeons with previous endoscopy experience have different learning needs. Tell us about your background so that we can advise on the appropriate level and preparation.
· Clinical reasoning and discussion of symptoms, examination findings and imaging.
· Anatomical models, cadaveric study and orientation to endoscopic corridors.
· Faculty-guided practice of selected access and instrument-handling tasks.
· Discussion of GORE transforaminal endoscopy and SMRUTII concepts for lumbar stenosis.
· Live case observation when suitable cases and permissions are available.
· Review of learning needs and options for continued study or mentorship.
The advertised format includes small-group cadaver learning with designated faculty at each table. Activities depend on the confirmed programme, facilities and learner experience. The final agenda will specify the practical sessions and observation opportunities available for that cohort.
Use the Online Study Index to identify the relevant preparatory material. Beginners should establish their clinical and anatomical foundation; experienced TFE surgeons can concentrate on the stenosis framework and imaging lessons. Ask us which modules are appropriate before purchasing additional courses.
Continued development may include case discussion and online mentoring. Ask about the available format, fees and scope. Completion of a workshop is one stage of learning; supervised experience and assessment remain important before independent practice.
